Thanks for the post, OP. Welcome to SD.
Love ASUS, but that's a huge amount of money for a laptop these days, despite the great specs...
$100 off $1,000 would hardly be considered slick but there's no shame in it either, plus, you put lots of good info on your subject line. Good job, because that;s important!
I'm giving you reps for putting the info that you included and generally doing a nice job of seeing how a posting should be done and executing, not necessarily for the deal.

Not sure whether the seller is going to provide great service or not.
This is my first post in SD, searched a little bit before posting, saw no prior similar post.
I was searching for a laptop for computing needs (ANSYS FLUENT) and watch some HD movies.
This one seemed awesome for me, but the 5400 rpm hard disk is a bummer for me, on the other hand, 1TB is generous.
The NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M is not a great graphics card, but it will do the job, sometimes, it gets by.
I'm comparing it against DELL Precision M4600 laptop from dell outlet new category, but not sure about the way they define "new" is trustworthy or not, so these two laptops are quite a headache for me.
Anyway, about the Asus laptop, the same one from Amazon is ~$989, lots of great reviews, seemed to be a great laptop at this price.
