Optimus Elite is not eligible for $25 Grandfathered plan because it was released after May 1st, 2012. The only two exceptions to this is: 1) you purchased and swapped the Optimus Elite before May 27th, or 2) you purchased the Optimus Elite and switched to $25 plan using the loop hole a few months ago. It is possible that these rules do not apply 100% as some people above have mentioned. But if I were a grandfathered plan holder, I wouldn't risk loosing the privilege.
Don't forget 10% cashback (5% for Q4 + 5% through ShopDiscover) if you have a Discover card. There are two colors: Black and White (limit 5 each per customer).

Also just FYI the reason I droped them was all my calls were getting blocked in our new apartment (there was some message whenever I tried to use the phone, something that I need to move away from the area). I googled it and I think someone might have had Sprint booster nearby. Anyways, I called VM about this problem and they literally said "well, you're on pay-as-you-go plan, soooo...". They did nothing and just didn't care a single bit. Fortunately, at that same time I got a cell from work, so never had to deal with them again.

Well, it's not true. There is limited number of phones (such as Optimus, Triumph etc. old ones) that vm lets you keep the $25 plan. You will lose your $25 If you replace your $25 phone to newer phones (like HTC One, Apple iPhone etc).

|MariaS9858||For anyone wondering about keeping their $25 plan. If that is what you are paying now. Yes you will be able to keep that as long as you just swap. If you are opening a new account with a new number you will be getting the $35 plan. I have swapped phones several times since the price went up. That is the price you pay until Virgin Mobile decides to raise the prices for us too.|

|MariaS9858||As long as you already have a phone on the $25 plan you are grandfathered at that price. If all you are doing is swapping your phone and keeping the same number. I have swapped phoned several times and is still paying the same. Now if you are opening a new account with a new number you will get the $35 plan.|
