Did anyone that got this tv figure out some good picture settings?
The picture is pretty bad, haha. We use to have a nice 47 inch Vizio 3d/smart tv in our livingroom, but I put it in my room and replaced it with the Emerson 50 inch.
Everyone is complaining because the picture quality/color are just noticeably off and not very pretty to look at. There also seems to be a lot of motion-blur and the picture looks pretty grainy, even during videogames that should be perfectly crisp.
All in all, I'd say we got a $300 tv, for $300. It's not like we got a tv that was worth $600 or something; I feel as if we paid full retain price for this...if this model even exist outside of walmart black friday to see a future price comparison.
All in all, I'm content with the TV. I dont think the picture is as unbearable as my family is saying it is (they havent even seen it connected to a console, or blurays!) and if someone can give some good picture settings, I'm thinking this TV will be a lot more tolerable to them.

|waltchan||I eventually got this Emerson 50" due to larger price-gap than 40", and this deal was even better. Best decision I've made. Also note, this model is NOT a Black Friday special model (no F at the end of model number), so there's some hints of better quality.|

I am a vendor. I had a job at Walmart at 5am today. I literally dont know what the job was...I think I was supposed to watch and see if people are looking at Samsung TV's with interest....no idea(why do they pay us vendors to not work? I can dig it!)
I entered through receiving, , and saw some poor, clueless lady being told she couldnt have her 50 inch TV put on layaway because you cant do it with sale items She had to return it...
...to my hands.
I am now the not-so-proud owner of a TV that I imagine is less than impressive (it's EMERSON, man)
But this will make a great addition to our exercise room.
My first and last b&m Black Friday purchase.

I am also lucky, just went Walmart with a friend to watch the crowd and this was just brought by their team... they have only three and we grabbed one... at the checkout one lady stopped us, saying that it is not for sale now and it will be put that inside and we have stand in the line to get it at 5am... but when we talked to the walmart stuff, they helped us to allow... we got it.... excited to open and see the quality of picture ....
it was very interesting and memorable thanks giving shopping for us...

|denyeu1nguoi||I didn't check wal-mart deals. So sad. Missed out the 50" in Best buy and Sears. Now wal-mart. God damn it !|

My Walmart had 11 of the 50". I was first on line to get it. WOOT! Originally said we had to wait til 5am to pick up, but they let us get at 3 since it sold out so quick.
PS: I've never purchased an extended warranty for anything before, but based on reviews, I got the plan for this TV. For $28 and 3 years of coverage even if you scratch it or drop it yourself, I think its worth it. Only comes with 90 days limited warranty.

|goodguy46947||Just came back from my local Super Wal-Mart at 3:00 am. Local store only has a whopping 18 of these TV's and all tickets have already been given out.|

|MikeS311||Just picked up a ticket on a whim for this. Cant find any reviews on it so im a little skeptical, but for $298 i'll take the risk and return it if its that bad.|

|met77||I was just at my local WM in Florida at about 2 am est. & an electronics employee was handing out claim tickets for the 50" but I need to be preset/return at 5 am when sale goes live (They're not on the floor now). I had #6 ticket & he only had a few more left in his hand, so I guess there's probably about 10 in my store (It's not a "Super Center"). Of course, YMMV! Good luck.|

At my local Super Wal-Mart I missed out on both the Emerson 32" and 40" TV. They had 2 isles closed with these TV's stocked at least 10 high. Anyways, they had LONG in-store lines for both and were handing out tickets to be able to purchase. Way more people in each line than their available stock.
My local Wal-Mart ad said that if either item sold out within the hour they would offer a Guarantee Card for the item ensuring the item will be shipped to the store for you before Christmas. My local store didn't make the offer to anyone in line that didn't get a ticket.
I'm now hoping to get the 50" Emerson but from what I've read they have stocked fewer of these than they did the 32" and 40" TV. My advise, get in line as soon as you can!
Here's the specs for the Emerson 50" LC501EM3 TV.....

|dudemaaan||ive read different things. some say it will be online and others say in store only. My other question is their free local pickup if they do have it online?|
