D cells and C cells seem like a niche market and any of those I've seen were really expensive. Eneloop sells C and D cells. apparently they are made up of their AA and AAA cells internally. See the link. http://www.candlepower

What do you recommend for rechargeable D-cell and C-cell batteries?
I have read that the adapters do not work in all devices.

1) I doubt the payout is 10 years. 3 or 4 years is more likely.
2) What is the time and hassle worth? Why are you going to change batteries in a clock every few months when you can do it (guessing) every year and a half? Time is money too.
3) You're missing the big picture. Once you're converted to eneloops you have those available. If I wanted to buy 25cent cells I'd have to pick them up and store the other 3 from the package... Then I would lose one, throwing away any potential saving.... Just put a real battery in it and be done.

There are other credible brands it's just that eneloops are setting the bar the last few years.

|SR20DEN||I managed to grab two of these yesterday afternoon for $31.33 each (Amazon). Great chargers, I have one already and love it. I will probably buy one more on the next sale so that I can slow/smart charge 16 eneloops at once for my wife's photo gear.|

nope, get the La Crosse or the Maha. I dont keep up on this topic but so far I've not seen any others recommended so highly across so many internet sources.

does anyone know if the eneloops would be good for solar led lights?
i'm thinking of using them for the walkway lighting, since the existing rechargeable batteries are rather crap.
