I've used 2-3 ton jack stands for about 25 years and have never had a problem, nor have I ever heard of any falling apart (have you?). I take my time and make sure I have them supporting a good location.
However, the 2-3 ton at Harbor Freight ($25) and Autozone ($25) do *look* more sturdy, but that's not saying that these in the OP will ever fall apart.
Czaz, the deal is for jack stands, not a jack.

|Revo77||2 1/4 not strong enough. 3 tons I'd be in.|

|Czaz||I don't know about anyone else, but I have these and I'd recommend saving your money for something else. Yeah, they'll lift my low coupe off the ground but there's a reason they give you jack stands. The jack slowly lowers on you! And the ball bearings shot out under the main "cup" that is between the bottom of the car and the top of the arm only due to the slightest angle of raising the car from the side.|

Seriously, what year is it? How do huge companies like this not have an accurate count of their inventory?
There's a reason Sears will be gone sooner than later.

|dubbin||Great deal, I don't need any at the moment - gotta keep saving for a lift! (and more importantly a garage large enough to put it in)|

Guys, Sear is offering 3 months free membership. It includes free home shipping. Just add it to your cart and get the free shipping. It also doesn't renew itself like Amazon. Once the 3 months are up, that's it. You can sign for the full membership afterward for $39.99, but no obligation. ;p

I have since bought the much taller 6 ton HF units just because I could use the additional height for certain tasks. They cost a lot more.
In the picture attached are my Sears stands. They are under the rear axle and have wood and flat stones under them to increase the height. I'm not as thin as I used to be.

In all seriousness, I'd get a pair if closer and carry one when traveling in my 87 Porsche... might come in handy for roadside repairs.
