|DarrenM9785||I did a lot of research on this TV. The only thing wrong with this TV is that it does not have WiFi or 3D capability. Some people say there is a little ghosting in the first 50 hours of use but its barely noticeable. Yes, black levels are a bit better on the Panasonic models but the LG has a lot more settings to fine tune to get the best overall picture quality. Do not hesitate to buy this TV at the 800 dollar price point. It is a steal.|

Can a TV expert explain if there is anything insufficient with this product? Why is it so much cheaper than the 60+ inches at costco for example?
I am trying to pick out a quality 60 to 65 inch TV for my parents and this is looking nice.

extra bump, sears has it for $799.99+tax with free shipping, guess LG shipped alot of these out for cheap.
edit:nm model number is different 60PA5500 but its still 60" and according to LG from their website "The only real difference between both models would be inputs each TV offers. The PA5500 has an AV in input on the side and the PA6500 does not. The PA6500 has 2 Component inputs in the back."

Purchased from BB even though im in Cali. With 5% CB, it only came out to a ~30 difference. I'd much rather pick it up in store, and be able to return it if I don't like it than deal with Tiger.

I have the 50" version of this. Yeah, the panels on the Panny's have better blacks. But like what luflame555 said above, it's still a good set. The LG has so many picture manipulation options (definitely follow the post on Amazon) and the volume auto levelling (so far) works pretty decent.
I've been playing around with the USB the past several days and it plays just about everything I've thrown at it. MP4s, MKVs, etc.

I'm watching my U64 (Sams Club version of the U60) as we speak.

|tbdombrosky||I bought this tv at Fry's two weeks ago. There's some calibration settings on one of the Amazon reviews. CNET says the Panasonic's black levels are better, but this one is quite a bit thinner. LG just released a firmware update a few days ago as well.|
