So we're talking about separate issues.
I meant is whether a 1080p 14" display or 1366x768, I don't see the difference in why pixel density would matter. So I assumed the issue was the productivity that a higher resolution provides.
My assessment is:

On a side note, Discover also accepts returns on items (up to $500) that have exceeded a retailer's return policy. I realize this doesn't really pertain to the discussion at hand, but I thought I would just mention it since it was news to me. It provides a little more peace of mind when making a purchase.

Additionally, it never hurts to call Discover to clarify T&C's. For example, Shop Discover has a disclaimer for Best Buy that excludes laptops and desktops. The rep I spoke to the other day laughed and said, "What else would you buy there!?" (obviously aware you can buy more, but making the point that it was a pretty big exclusion). Anyway, she noted my account and assured me that I would get 5% for a computer purchase. She said that if for some reason it didn't credit, that I should call back and they would make the adjustment.

Will I still get cash back bouns(10%) from discover if I price match the difference from regular Lenovo (linked to lenovo from Shopdiscover) to B&N Lenovo (Y500) from 849 to 819 ( $30 different)
I received the laptop but going to price match the difference ($30) , Transaction posted on the discover card and received 84.9 cash back bouns in my email. Will discover take back the cash back bouns due to the price match?
I think the 10% cash back bouns and the 5% does stack together if you haven't gone over the $1500 limit for 5% extra cash back

And of COURSE you can see pixels on a 1080 screen, it all depends upon how close you are to it. As for it not being a "retina display", of course it isn't. This isn't an Apple. The complaint (as I understand it) usually is that the resolution of this display is not high enough. Higher resolution displays do exist, and in all sizes, and not just from Apple. If your display works for YOU at the higher pixel count and is therefore better for your doing side-by-side work, that's great. But it's not a higher resolution display than this Lenovo, it just packs more pixels because the screen is larger.

Why does resolution matter? It's easy enough to see pixels on a 1080p screen. If it's not gonna be a retina display, what's the point?
I always figured it was about how much you can fit on a screen and for that sort of thing, I don't enjoy how little screen real estate I get at 1366x768. However, if you're looking for high-end gaming, this is gonna have top performance for the price.

That's why I specifically chose a Dell 17R Special Edition with a 1600x900 screen (saves about 30% pixels on 1080p while giving plenty of screen space for side-by-side Word and Acrobat.

Sorry to distract from the deal at hand, but does anyone know if shopdiscover cashback can be nullified by getting a partial refund on the order? A few months back I picked up the x230 from Lenovo and got a discount from them after shipping was delayed over a month. I never got my 10% cashback (equivalent to $59) and when I called in Discover said I couldn't receive it because of the $25 credit I received for the delayed shipment.
They filed a case for me but it didn't sound like there was much chance I'd get the 10%. Just a warning to all those ordering now. Anyone else have experience in matters like this?
