Finally got my $99 credit in UPromise account Extremely happy - thinking of selling away the 128GB card as normally make a backup copy with the second card (currently 32GB).. any reason I should keep the 128 Gb? is it really much much faster for those who got that card ?

50mm 1.8G was backordered but my order shipped.
Used $50 visa and it was $20 off already.

I almost went for 24-120 that is on sale for 999 but I have already blown my budget.
On full frame 50mm will be great lens (normal lens - close to angle of eyesight) and so inexpensive compared to others.

With visa rebate expiring this week, I bought 50mm 1.8G which is backordered.
I hope I get this before my vacation in April

I'm sticking with my combination of 6 and 10stop single coated B+Ws...

True variable ND filters are two sets of polarizers working against each other, and the "X" pattern is a byproduct of this. As such, I'm guessing that using a circular and a linear polarizer will still have this issue.

I'm not expecting quite that much (given that i'm using a linear polarizer), 14 stops is huge.
As far as knowing how many stops for setting exposure....I think it's trial and error! I suppose i can do some tests and put marks on the linear polarizer, but that may be difficult.

My $50 visa credit expires tomorrow...here is what I did:
I bought a B&W 77mm circular polarizer from Adorama (the price was about half of what Adorama's was). I then purchased a couple of step up adapters (so that I can use 77mm filters on my current lenses), a 77mm lens cap and a Hoya 77mm linear polarizer.
By combining the circular and linear polarizers, I effectively have a variable ND filter in addition to a circular polarizer for a pretty good price ($160 combined). Variable ND filters go for well over that amount. Pretty excited.
Now I need to use the remaining cashback by September....

Just order some visible dust sensor swabs. at $5 each, it's cheaper and faster than driving to a nikon service center to get it cleaned, unless if you live really close to one.

for those who wants a camera grip you can price match adorama to unique photos for 250 and use the rewards for a total of 170 bucks. I know you can use non-nikon brand for cheaper grips but just in case you like nikon better.
