We just opened four new Take N' Play engines. Also soon to open the Great Quarry Climb set.
We decided against the Risky Rails Bridge Drop because we didn't want Trackmaster. Although we do have some of each type and my son can interchange them to an extent the majority of ours is Take N' Play. Always have liked die cast toys.

|Blue91||Each has pros and cons but I like the take n play because they are metal. My daughter is rough and my son will be too when they are handed down to him so I like knowing they'll last. Plus, the magnetized hookup between them is nifty.|

Just getting into this now. My kiddo loves trains so I thought he should get the trackmaster series. The TOMY series are getting hard to find and too expensive!
Most of the deals are gone here except for the lesser known trains like den and freddie.
If you need some cheap trackmaster sets that are on clearance check out target!
Busy day set - 10.67
Stormy night on sodor - 20.27 (glow in the dark tracks!)
Shake Shake Bridge track - 18.88 (my fav!)
power line collapse on sodor - 22.48

|DR_DIGH||My mom got my son Blue Mountain Bridge Drop for Christmas along with 4 other individual trains. This is the first Thomas stuff that my son has played with. He absolutely loves it but I'm constantly having to take them apart and "re-seat" the battery because he's dropped it or it's fell off the track. I believe the trains have a major design flaw in that they should've surrounded the battery with a plastic housing with the top section somehow keeping it wedged in once it's assembled. I swear I've fixed trains all day long. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing him having a ball with the set. I just wish they'd have thought the design out a little more. Especially for how expensive this brand is compared to others.|

i 'm actually just getting in to Thomas. Am I correct in that there are 3 Thomas lines of toys: wooden, trackmaster, and take and play?
I assume the trains for each are incompatible with tracks from different set types?
