Oh, I ordered mine mid-December with the 10% coupon that amazon was sending out.
The two lenses I ordered were both 2%.

I got an email back letting me know that the 2% reward should be emailed to me after Jan 31st. They didn't tell me why Jan 31st... considering the web site says 35 days after shipping and it's been more than 35 days so far.
It may have to do with the holiday return policy ending on Jan 31st?

FYI guys. I just had a chat with Amazon as well as emailed them.
The person I chatted with had no clue what I was talking about when I asked about the 2% promo reward for SLR/lens. The person actually said they'll have to have someone from marketing get back to me about it.
A few hours later, I got an email telling me they are sorry that I didn't get the $2 reward back... $2?!?! Are you kidding me? Again, as if they had no idea what the 2% reward is when it is CLEARLY listed on their web site.

Regarding the lens, do you remember whether your shipping box was beat up at all when it got to you? My guess is that the lens probably had an element or two knocked out of alignment from getting dropped/rough handling by the shipping carrier. In my experience Canon actually has pretty good QC from the factory.
