And now it is up to $981.02
Just thought I would tell anyone. These are going the way of the dodo. It is crazy to witness the price curve and lifecycle.

|paapu007||I don't really need the "Smart" features since I have a "smart" Blu-ray player, but 3D capability and the Anti Reflective screen of the ST series are a must for my setup. Is there any plasma model in panasonic like this that I can find?|

|lctiger||Does anyone think the 60u50 at $764 will be the lowest we will see it? and should I be scared about it becoming unavailable soon?|

I bought this tv around June of last year and have loved it so far.
Only issue I had with it is a buzzing sound that started recently. Since it was under warranty I definitely wanted it fixed. Tech fixed it in about 10 minutes by replacing the screws with new screws that have lock washers. Problem fixed. I knew how to fix it myself but didnt want to do anything to affect the warranty.
I always get compliments about the tv. I have it in our basement and have the blinds closed. As previous poster said I would definitely not put this in a room with a lot of light.
I recently am using the 3d and love it. didnt think I would. Avengers 3d really popped.

|valarin||In theory, LED/LCD should be the most reliable. Sadly this is far from true. The most common part to fail on both plasma and LCD is the power supply which will usually be due to design/parts selection.|

led vs plasma same price point ????
Having been shopping for a TV a couple of days now I nearly bought this TV, TC-P55UT50 last night but ended up buying the TC-L55E50 LED http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...00_s00_i00 just a couple of hours ago.
I had a samsung plasma and loved the picture quality so I wnated to stay with a plasma. Costco has Samsung PN51E530 http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN5...+plasma+5
I know the obvious advantages of a plasma over LCD/LED but do not care about 3D. In addition this TV TC-P55UT50 had a lot more 1 star rating due to failures after a few months compared with the TC-L55E50 LED.
I am however interested in internet connection abilities of both of these TVs.
So I am right in choosing the LED over the plasma at the same price point. The LED seem to have started selling at $1699 while the plasma was at $1300.
Any inputs are welcome
