I ended up going with SuperBiiz.com after a Google reader search for "SATA". Is $123.00.
$131.99 - $15 (15% off code HARBOWL),
ships for $5.99
Ok my mistake but red or green the price is good.

Got my drives today. I ordered 10 of them in two batches. Each order in its own box of 5. No peanuts, but each drive in the usual anti-static bag. The drives were inserted into what must be foam rack of two rows of about 15 slots. Drives seem to be well protected. In fact, I'm going to keep the box. I have two FreeNAS systems running 5x1TB WDC Blacks in ZF2 each and am adding two more with the 5x3TB WDC Reds in ZF2. I have 2 more 3TB Reds on order to go in the 6bay cases on the new servers as standby drives for when the first failure occurs.
I am waiting on the rest of the components of the new servers to build the systems out and then SpinRite (GRC dot com) will go to town on level 4 just to give the drives a thorough thrashing before going into production at the end of February.

Sometimes the poor shipping is an obvious conclusion for a DOA drive.
But, people need to realize that Newegg/Amazon also receives drives that are already DOA from the distributor all the way to WD.
I never seemed to worry about hard drive reliability the way I have to these days... This is just looking back to a few years ago too.

Well, my drive is DOA. So now I have to pay to return it and there goes the deal.
Now who is to say the drive they send back isn't defective as well?

|s2000zr||I just got my 4 drive from newegg. Two of the drive static bag was rip. it looks like one of the drive with the tear has a metal chip on the bottom. Doesn't look like they improve there shipping.|
