I've known prices would go up after January all along but this seems like a really dumb move on MS's part.
Win8 hasn't been a great seller at $40, What makes MS think that raising the price is going to help things??? Also, with talks of a new Windows OS being released sometime this year, I can't see many wanting to drop $200 on an unpopular and soon to be outdated OS.
I have Win8 and like it (mostly) but it carries a large learning curve for many (mainly those less tech knowledgeable). I haven't upgraded my parents PCs, at $40 each, because I know it would be a nightmare for them (and me).

After using Windows 8 final for the past 2 weeks. I really like it (granted I disabled metro from startup and brought back my start menu, but beside the point).
I however did get my license for free, and have considered paying $15 for another one, but Microsoft must be joking if they think anyone is going to buy it for $120-$200.

PSA: $40 Win8 Pro upgrades going to $200 on Feb. 1st
If you plan on getting Win8 upgrades, do it before Feb. 1st. Prices on the normal and Pro versions go up to $120 and $200.
This isn't a deal really...just a reminder!
EDIT: Also remember to get your free Media Center keys before time expires, saves you $10.
