Damn I got mine next day, thanks Amazon prime!
Amazon packaged it well. Bubble wrap surrounding a second cardboard box with proper hard drive mount inside.
Running a WD sector scan now for first step of burn in. Second step is full slow format.

|oopsz||Bought four from Amazon. Time to upgrade the NAS... can anyone recommend a test suite that will do burn-in testing?|

I ordered 2 of the 2TB Red's from Amazon and one is dead the other fine.
Hey what's up with no diagnostics software listed for the WD Red? I snagged it from another drives download page and it does the tests but will not give the SMART information?
Here's the web page for the RED downloads:
And for the Green downloads with the western digital diagnostic software:

|bansh77||The one thing I thought I was done researching for later. This is the first time I've seen any negative chatter about these and the 3tb's around here. I hope it's just based on a bad batch.|

There's definitely no way I'm returning it since I got such an amazing price on it, but I'm just a little afraid to trust my data to it haha. I'm not the type that can readily back up all their stuff. I'm also worried of the read/write/transfer speeds as I transfer files in and out of my computer very often, and and it looks like people review the green drives as pretty darn slow.

|llgroup||I'm pretty sure they are the same as the green drive but with TLER|

|7up1n3||Nice deal, but I remain a little jaded since these same price points, for similar capacities, were considered excellent a couple years ago. Heck, its exactly what I paid for my 2TB WD Black (WD2002FAEX 6Gb/s) drives in November of 2011. Crazy.|

|n30||i have 8x of these in a synology 1812+ and they have been working flawlessly. the first batch had issues, and that's when they became unavailable. most if not all of the ones out now that you're buying from newegg, etc... don't have those problems.|

|jbaruch76||one of my hard drives literally just failed as i got home. i had almost everything backed up so i should be good after grabbing one of these. it was a 1.5, so not that big of an upgrade, still have an empty sata slot so waiting on a 3tb for a real bump.|

|NQxxx||Repped! I had 2 of these in my Amazon cart waiting for the sub-$100 price. I can finish my backup NAS now.|
