I have no doubt my next purchase will be one of the latest Onkyo models. IMO it's a really great bang for your buck.

|Willy1||Would the Bookshelf 22s be able to handle to wattage from Denon 3312 as 7.2 surround speakers? The receiver is listed as 100W per channel and speakers are only rated 80W. Will that combo work?|

Can't answer your Sony comparisons, sorry. For sub, I picked up a BIC F12 12" sub for $187 on Amazon and it's thunderous. Stuff rattles in other rooms if the volume is up. I love it.

I'm currently using a pair of Sony SS-MF600H tower speakers. These things are great, and powerful at loud volumes. Two 8" woofers, a 3" mid range, and a 1" tweeter.
Anyone know if I purchase a pair of SP-BS22-LRs for fronts with the sub if they'd be comparable to my Sony towers? How about the SP-FS52-LR compared to the Sonys?
Years ago I purchased the matching center and rears for these towers. But years later after actually hooking up the center channel I found that it sucked. Way too "boxy" sounding. Many reviews stated the same. I've been living with 2 channel audio for years now.
But my two channel audio kills my brother's sound bar in sound quality. His bar just sounds disconnected & distant. It's like there's no focus of the sound waves. Not bright or full spectrum at all.
I'm thinking of getting the SP-C22 center and SP-BS22-LR for rears and using my Sony fronts. I'm undecided on a sub woofer. I don't think I want the limited 8" SW-8 after reading reviews. But maybe something in the 10" range.

|mgeoffriau||Just face it guys -- this debate isn't going anywhere. MIX MASTER ICE has some issues with these speakers. He's expressed it. It's clear nobody is going to convince him otherwise.|
