1. Power on your laptop and at the ASUS logo POST (power on self-test) screen, press the ESC key (you may have to press it several times).
2. Select the option to "Enter Setup".
3. From the BIOS setup menu, select Advanced, Start Easy Flash
4. The "ASUSTek Easy Flash Utility" screen will appear.
This is where you update the BIOS (from a hard drive, or USB flash drive).
I have no idea if you can backrev to a previous version of the BIOS. Best to check with ASUS tech support about that before proceeding.

I flashed to 410 Bios. Is there a way to revert back to older Bios? I tried to use the same winflash utility but it says that the current bios is newer than the old bios and doesn't let me flash.

I got this laptop as part of this promotion and have managed to misplace my adapter. Quick couple of things hoping someone can help with.
1) The specifications 3.42 @ 65 W and 4.72 @ 90 W; I have no idea what that means, can someone look at their power adapter and tell me what ships with the product
2) Does anyone know a reliable place where I can buy a new one
3) I got an aftermarket one from Electronic Bay - (90 W variety) does anyone know if this matters?

Note that the WinFlash BIOS utility doesn't seem to work but it's best to update the BIOS from within the BIOS setup menu.
Good luck if you decide to update your BIOS since there is always a risk or chance of bricking your laptop if it's corrupted during the update process.

The chipset drivers are simply drivers not the same as upgrading the bios.
On a side note I can't believe there isn't more people complaining over this low quality TN screen.

guys what screen setting are you using? before upgrading to windows 8, there was a ASUS pop up screen on the upper right hand side "power save mode" thingy and after the upgrade, that thing doesn't pop up anymore.
I really liked the "non power save mode" prior to upgrade but now my screen is too cloudy. especially the whites are too cloudy.

I'm quite satisfied with mine so far. I has great battery life and can even play modern games. Source engine games run perfectly as well as Minecraft and Battlefield 2.

|ssamboy||I'm liking the portability and battery life of this machine. I can also confirm that it's recognizing my 16GB Vengeance Ram as well which is a nice bonus that wasn't expected. It's flying with an SSD and plenty of Ram. One question, has anyone successfully removed the optical drive? Mine isn't coming out, and I don't want to damage it trying. I can't find the service manual anywhere.|
