Royal Purple finally carries a filter for the Mazda 2.0L Skyactiv in the Mazda 3 and CX-5.
The part number is: 10-2876. This info is NOT on their website. I used a cross-reference guide. However, I am NOT sure if Pep Boys carries it. It's not listed on their website either.
Other brands: K&N: HP-1008 Mobil 1: M1-108 Purolator: PL14612 and L14612 Wix: 51365

my buddies camry had 125k miles on it... ran RP for 9k miles without chaning filter or oil out or adding any ..... when he changed the oil at 9k, he saved a sample and sent it int to an independent company that cahrged like 80 bux to test the oil. they sent back detailed results and it showed the expected oil change was 3k more miles.....
so in short, he could have gone 12k miles without having to change his oil without any damage...
A while back there was a pep boys coupon where you got 5 qts and a filer for 30 even..... i picked up about 200 quarts going to multiple stores over a couple weeks... o have used about half of it so far.... might take advantage of this to stock up a little more..

If the car is started every day, I never hear the lifter. Only hear it when it sits longer than a week.

I'd clean out your pcv valve or replace it and switch to a high mileage oil that will swell areas any leak could be coming from. M1 HM is cheap enough and would probably help lessen the oil useage. A quart every 5,000 not such a big deal but two quarts every 5k on an '06 is not a great sign.

|Allthesame||Love you Royal Purple peps . I work for a company that makes the major raw material for the synthetic lubes industry. Very high markup off you guys so thanks for the big bonus you entitle us to get each year. Syn lubes are really designed for special applications such as turbines and now the newer refrigeration systems that require syn lubes for compatibility with newer refrigerants but hey who am I to complain. That's how we roll!|
