I have had a P-38 on my key chain since the seventies and I have used it countless times for countless tasks. As others have reported, I too have got my finger stuck when reaching for my keys, but I see that as an acceptable collateral damage for all the valuable uses it provides while taking up little little space.
FYI. Since I have owned mine from enlistment, I have had my P-38 confiscated (Post 9/11) twice at airports. It just depends which airport you pass through. In each case, I paid postage to have it mailed back to my residence. That's how much I value my P-38..

Yeah me 2- Bummed that I toosed a ton of extra stuff I had when I exited the army
extra ta-50(used for inspections), bdu uniforms, boots, 2 duffle bags.
Not bummed that I ditched the class-a uniform to include the dorky "hat"

As someone who's had to use them more than a few times...

Honestly, I think the tiny P38 works just about as well as the P51 for a lot less bulk and weight.... and every year there are fewer cans that require an opener anyway.
