I was able to pick one up on Monday, but I’ve been having issues with it.
I tried to create the recovery discs, but the drive wouldn’t recognize my dvds. I called Toshiba about it, and they said that the brand I was using was cheap and to try Sony instead. I tried the Sony discs today, and again, no luck. I called Toshiba back and was told to reset the computer and try again. I did this, set everything up, and tried to create the recovery discs—again no luck! I called Toshiba yet again, and they said that it sounds like a hidden partition is causing the issue, and that I should return it to the store and get a replacement. But there aren’t any more units of this model available anywhere near me. Would Staples offer me a comparable exchange without having to pay more?

Got mine yesterday afternoon as UPS delivered it a day early. It's a nice machine. I'm just hacking my way through Windows 8...which by any measure sucks. I downloaded and installed Classic Shell as the first order of business. The same with PC Decrapifier. A lot of Toshiba software on it so I have to be careful to check out what each one does/is before I delete them. Overall a great laptop for $205 delivered.
Certainly seems fast enough for my use. I have some software to load on it. Will see how does backing up my DVDs too.

|menace33||Good deal if you really needed a laptop to tote around. However, I'm not sure if it's a great deal per se.|
