I don't like 8 either but it's about all you can get with new hardware these days.
google "Classic Shell"...problem solved...it even binds your windows key on your keyboard back to the start menu
This was a great deal for anyone who doesn't need serious computing power. It is back in stock but shows at $449.00 for me and not worth it at that price as you can easily get an Ivy Bridge Core i3 for that price or an A6/A8 powered laptop.

Homer: I just need something to receive email.
Computer salesman: (whistles) You'll need a top of the line computer for that.

|Buckeyefan 1||Benchmark on this processor is 850. My 11.6" netbook is just under this, and it plays 720p videos, but it's slow to start. For a very basic facebook/email laptop, this should be fine. It's about as entry as you can get. You'll want to keep this machine cleaned up all the time (CCleaner, disk cleanup), and no anti-virus running in the background. It will slow this to a crawl. You can use a free version such as Avast, or Malwarebytes if you have to have it with kids. But it does slow the machine down.|

would have jumped right away for this price if the processor was an Intel one.
