If avr1712 does a zone 2, i would power most frequent zone2 area off denon, and run zone2 preamp outs to cheap old amp (Craigslist ken wood or something) or to small amps like the $20 lepai that was on here a few weeks ago or the more recent $26 Lepai amp/mp3 player.
If avr1712 doesn't do some 2, maybe it has a tape output u can use? Ive never done the series/parallel wiring and think I'd have to crank amp up too high to drive 11 speakers.
Edit...crutch field has an intro diagram to wiring:

|rrsmigs||I bought Polk, HTD (Home Theatre Direct), and another in-ceiling speaker, and tried comparing them all to reference Klipsch R5650-C and R5800-C, and once I had listened to the Klipsch reference speakers, anything else seemed so muddy...so I picked up some used Klipsch Reference on ebay , and LOVE them! IMHO.|

depends on the functionality you want, the speakers you have, the ohm rating of the avr you plan to use, if you want multi channel audio, different sources in different rooms concurrently etc etc etc
it boils down to running a multichannel AND multizone amp (Niles audio makes some you can get secondhand for around $400)
buying an impedance matching speaker selector. note if you plan to run ALL of those speakers at once you probably want a much beefier pre-amp as the sound level will drop across all speakers as you enable more rooms.
hth if you want more details i would be happy to answer.

The Monoprice ones are getting good reviews on AVS Forum. They are half the price of Polk.

How does it compare with Energy EAS-6C In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair, White)?

Looks like a good deal.
I moved in a home thats wired for 11 ceiling speakers throughout the house, all the wires dump out into a cabinet, but i have no idea how to power them.
I have a denon avr1712, but how would you attach 11 speakers to it plus my 6.1 system? Run them in parallel?
any how-to's on the net?

Polk Audio RC60i In-Ceiling / In-Wall Speakers 69.99 Amazon
Polk Audio RC60i In-Ceiling / In-Wall Speakers
These have really good reviews and I've been watching em for a while. This is the lowest price I've ever seen them, although they were also this price (apparently) in very recent weeks.
