In 2004 the AWB was allowed to expire.
The Heller decision in 2008 improved 2nd amendment protections for defense of the home.
After trying to exploit a tragedy for political gain in 2012, the Democrats were unable to foist any new gun control on the nation. Bucking the national trend, liberal stronghold states passed new gun control measures. Meanwhile, most states have continued to protect gun rights. Since 2008 at least 22 states have loosened their carry laws. Since 2004 (I'm using Ohio as the turning point) every state that had previously banned concealed carry law has passed a law legalizing concealed carry. This ended a few months ago when Illinois(by judicial mandate) passed a concealed carry law. They were last state in the union that did not allow concealed carry. Notably, the congress overrode the Gov's "amendatory" veto with stronger gun control.
If you want to pretend that New York, California, and Connecticut represent the national trend, while ignoring the other 47 states... Well, that's your business.

They were representatives of the people in their districts and they didn't like his policies. Therefore, we can only conclude that the people don't trust John Hickenlooper with a Democratic Senate, right? hug
