Has anyone tried out the traffic on their unit yet?
Mine did not work and turns out I received a standard car charger cable instead of the charger/traffic receiver combo cable.
You can tell because a regular charger only has one cable running from the cigarette adapter while the traffic receiver has two.
It should look something like this: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=104
Not sure if i should contact tiger direct or garmin about this.

Mine came with a upc. It is a white label and it has refurbish on it.
I thought it has voice activation but it does not. I might still keep it.

Guys.. we are talking about downloading all maps locally on the phone/memory card.
It will NOT use and data plan/connection since all maps are downloaded locally on the phone
Also, there isn't any monthly fees. All you have to pay is app and phone price.

Closed & single use platform.
Open & general purpose multi functional platform.
Between this garmin and a little more $ (ex. $129 for a evo 3d phone.. think of all u can do)

If you get a minute, you should report it: LINK
I'm not sure if that's the proper way to report routing issues or if letting someone know in the product support forum would be a better idea. I don't have any issues with routing here in Missouri.
I've tried TomTom, and I don't really like it. iGo Primo is alright, but requires a little modification, depending on screen resolutions. It's not something you can just download from Google Play/iTunes and you're good to go.
Of course... I don't use those to download my GPS apps anyways.

2) problem I have with garmin is around NJ Turnpike / I95 area near holland tunnel. with my last garmin also I had a garmen Ique way back 2005 and same issue around that area.
3) you need to try TomTom or Igo Primo. excellent apps. put garmin to shame.

Off the top of my head I don't know the exact requirement of the Android version of TOMTOM, NAVIGON,IGO and Sygic.
but I used TomTom, Navigon and Igo for Windows CE back in 2008 and those Windows CE devices operatte at 300mhz to 400mhz and have 48 to 64 megs of ram. they run the Navigaton software fine. (though not all fancy 3D options are turned on). I find Navigation apps have very little hardware requirements. Of course if u have a faster phone it will run faster.
Older phone would be perfect as most android phones are 800mhz with 256mb+ of ram.
I'm pretty sure it will handle the apps at a reasonablly and usable speed.
Android version doesn't matter where it is Gingerbeard, ICS, or Jellobean. those nav apps are just apps. updating maps .. it's on a case by case by the app creator. but it shouldn't be tied down to the android version u are using.

1- does not need a data/mobile connection
2- stand alone and have full USA (or what ever country u are from) maps stored on device.
I tried google nav a year ago just never use it as it's "on demand" type of map access

I was looking at the file structure of Igo and the maps/poi/3d building etc.. lot of these data assets are same files and interchangable with the ones from WinCE
