This is exactly what I wanted to hear (see) from someone who has the kit. I don't know much about this kind of thing yet - actually, I don't know a damned thing about it yet. But, I'm looking to start taking Santa pictures and maybe portraits at the Halloween party. Something small with little or no pressure. I'm thinking I start with a kit like this and figure out what I really need/want and then buy a "professional" version.

Aaaargh. SD ate my reply when I logged in...
Ok.. this one will be shorter. I bought this kit 2 weeks ago.. and have been pretty happy. it IS a cheap kit.. But if you need to do some light portrait or product work.. It should work very well for you. If you think you need a bit more.. look at the 4-500$ kits. But if you are starting out you get a good bang for the buck.

I thought Amazon has no return on all items except TVs?!!!
Or at least last time I wanted to return a camera accessory item, that another seller on amazon start to sell it for 30 percent cheaper, they said the don't accept return. Only I can refuse to accept it at the time of mail delivery that off course I am not at home...

|johnnyp14||It's a cheap kit. Stands are very flimsy. Invest in better stands or sandbags. The lights are just okay. WAY better than flash, but that is true for any extra lights. The bag and zippers feel like they'll break in a few weeks of use. Would be nice for anyone NOT wanting to transport it regularly. Keep it set up and leave it.|

|sleepybubba||Well it looks like the amazon seller who offers this kit has just reacted to a sudden demand and raised the price to $310.|

But according to the camel, this is an anomaly. It's normally $289, has been that price for almost all of the last 2-1/2 years, but it bumped up TODAY.
