I've got a 265WT and discovered that if you zoom out (-) waaay up, the display changes to a contour map and shows the river valleys and stuff. I wasn't expecting it - it's the coolest thing about the garmin. Don't know if magellan or the others do that but Garmin sure does.
It is the way to drive on long trips - cooler than shit.

I have the 5" version of this one, I can see it MUCH better than my TomTom wearing the same glasses.

I bought this one off Craigslist brand new in sealed box for $65 three weeks ago. Although I didn't try the traffic yet but bought after reading amazon reviews that with latest software updates, the ads are no longer an issue.
To me this is the best LMT (not just LM) option for the price of around 100.

Anyone use this model on a sunny day while wearing polaroid sunglasses?
I like my old Magellan 1412 but, it can be hard to see on bright days. Map is getting old as well.

|tuanms||I have 2 Garmin GPS, one is factory refurb. The other one, which I bought it brand new, connects to satellites much faster than the refurb. This is important to me. Maybe it's just me but if I have to buy a GPS again, I only buy brand new.|

|tuanms||Someone on here said latest traffic update models are way more accurate than the older ones and as a result, their prices are around $200. Garmin try to sell out older models like this for cheap. I don't know it this was true.|

|DarkScorpion||After reading through the various comments and reviews, it seems the ad issue has been addressed with the latest software update (at least, that's what most are saying). Nonetheless, now that this has dropped another $10 to $100, I'm going to jump on this. My father uses a GPS regularly (until it broke, hence why I'm getting a new one) as he is always driving to different customer's houses and sites as part of his job. While he could be using his phone (which only has a 3.8" screen), a stand alone GPS is much more convenient for someone who uses it heavily.|

|HY-SD||GPS's UI is still quite miles better than any of those free offerings on phones.|

|ZeeDuck||I've always found that the stand alone GPS is better for the actual navigation. Smart phones are better for finding "points of interest". Once I got a smart phone I used my GPS far less than I used to but I still like having it. If I had it mounted in my car and always on I think it would get used for mapping more than my phone does.|

simultaneous voice and data on cdma 3g only has worked on HTC thunderbolt and others for a while. I think GS3 does but only in LTE areas? My sprint evo wimax did it great. I would drive for 1hr while one Conf call and using wimax hotspots for us in car to view webex. Granted that 1hr was just from Brooklyn to Manhattan but Voice data whole time.
