|pilotfox||Well I went ahead and decided to return it, be warned for those of us who don't live near any staples. The only way to return without a store nearby is to have their courier service pick up the package. I was told to leave the package outside and there is a 5 day window where they will pick it up. They will not give a firm date or notify me before coming. So my computer will be sitting outside in the cold and snow for a pick up in the next 5 days.|

Yossarian, is that you?

I haven't had any problems like that. Mine is working fine. Maybe you want to return yours since maybe the hard drive was causing your initial problem, too.
BTW, anyone who is having a hard time learning or adjusting to Windows 8, just download and install the free Classic Shell . I did that. Took about 10 minutes to download and install and then it looks and acts just like Windows 7, but with all the benefits of Windows 8 (such as fast startup time). Worked great for me, and then there was no learning curve.

|pilotfox||Anyone else having issues with this computer? Bought last week and the auto windows updates slowed the whole computer up. Was told by hp to restore the system the system (wipe everything and start from scatch). After restore was told to turn off all automatic windows updates as its a know problem. After doing the restore the computer worked for a day and starting slow up again, tried another system restore and the hard drive failed.|

|jehaine||I bought this model last week with the coupon. I do a lot of photo editing, so it seemed like a great budget friendly deal|

I am trying to understand how that could have happened. I am guessing you entered the promo code at the kiosk and then maybe the cashier put it into the register at the checkout as well?

The total was 349.99.

I ask them for the cheapest 3rd gen i5 they have. I dont think the i7 is worth the extra money. I make sure I get at least 1 TB drive and 8 GB DDR and a video card.
the XPS is nice to buy from outlet because they upgrade the warranty to in home and premium support

|ut84088||It is time to retire my old Dell. I use it mainly for internet and some gaming. Cant decide what to do. Grab this or maybe one of the Inspiron 660 i5's or wait for the next XPS promotion?|

|deelseaker||Staples extended the promotion to 3/11. There is a new in-store code now. Check the OP for a printout.|
