Decided to keep this, and am very happy did, got in on the $20 microsd deal from best buy and amazon. The battery has been outstanding, lasting me 3 days of several hours use each day before needing a charge. The wifi seems to be better(i dont know) and it is a joy to keep in my lap while using in laptop mode.
Even loading full pages of gifs or watching vids have ben great, though 1080p vidoe on youtube is choppy, i will settle for the 720
Everything became great once i installed the classic theme making to more like windows 7.

To me, all of these factors belong in the "performance" category. So does stability/crashing of course. So I would agree that if yours was crashing, it was wise to return it. I'm pretty sure this has been taken care of with a recent chipset update as mine has been perfectly stable. Hopefully it stays that way.

To go back on topic though. The X2 is a good piece of hardware and most of the issues can be fixed with a software patch. At this point, everyone is familiar with the speed from core-i chips so be prepared to be let down with the speeds of clover trail. There are tons of reviews that say that its still quick and quick enough, my complaint there is that I was led to believe this and in actual real world performance, I was very let down. I am a student and had to restart the computer in the middle of class because it locked up while I was using word... I missed a good 4 to 5 minutes of the lecture. This happened more than once and at that point, I had to initiate a return.
Looking at the price here though, 525 and tax... -xxx for an older trade in... that makes this a great deal if you are wanting to upgrade cheaply, just don't expect this to be faster than what you may be trading in (even a first gen i5 will blow this out of the water in performance).

For example, I quickly learned that installing Chrome maybe isn't the greatest idea. In fact, I've also learned that IE10 works amazingly well with this machine and have had no real performance issues at all.
Some of the Windows Store games don't work quite as well as they do on my Surface RT, but I suppose that is to be expected of an Atom chip. The fact that they work at all is really quite amazing actually.

If it helps, I had a Samsung Series 9 running Windows 7 that had weak Wi-Fi reception when not plugged in. The solution (posted somewhere on the interwebs) was in the advanced power configuration options.
Power Options dialog --> Advanced Settings tab --> Wireless Adapter Settings --> Power Saving Mode --> On battery (then select Maximum Performance).
I'm not sure if this will help, and if Wi-Fi is lousy when plugged in (should be on Max Performance) then this definitely will not help.

|Corrosive||As for the X2... I had one and returned it within the first week. The touch screen kept lagging and became unresponsive several times. Its a nice piece of hardware with some really notable features, but I just think that clover trail can't really handle everything yet. Oh yea... I forgot to mention my biggest quam about this tablet... youtube lagged really really really badly... My Surface RT lagged less, maybe bc the tegra 4 has a better graphics chip?|

Where are all the trolls who were threadcrapping on the Viewsonic tablet with about the same specs?

This thing is a big disappointment, I mean the form factor and construction and battery are some of the best i have experienced. But the wifi is pure trash and the laggyness of the system is a little worse than i thought it would be. Still though the tablet aspect and size when in laptop mode are just perfect.
Ahhh dont know if should return or keep.
