Just got my SB6141 from ebay working today, works great with Comcast, speeds are slightly faster than the SB6121, but it was way easier to activate and sped through the steps.
The ebay deal at $67 was great, fast Priority Mail shipping too. Very pleased, saved $25 over the SB6121 retail version, and got the faster 8/4 model for future-proofing.

Just got mine from modems-modems. That guy's value is great. Very happy. Thanks to whoever originally suggested it.

|peebody01||Anyone know of any deals for an eMTA for Comcast? Just buying the modem won't help me sadly.|

|mj56gt||Finally I managed to get my SB6141 activated with Comcast as a new costumer with their Internet performance service. The download and upload speeds are ~ 26.5 and 4.5 Mbps. How much do others get with Comcast?|

|playsccr||For the list of TWC approved modems which is the best? I do not need a modem and router in one.|

|peebody01||Thanks droyder! Trying to save myself $7/month too! Looks like I need to find an eMTA then.|

but no, it's not an eMTA. an eMTA modem is a combination telephone (voice) and data modem, the 6141 is only a data modem. if you just get internet and tv services, this is the perfect modem for you.

|peebody01||Will the SB6141 work with an Xfinity Triple Play bundle too? Is the SB6141 also an "eMTA"?|

Turns out it's my cables/splitters which reduced my signal big time. Apparently the 3.0 DOCSIS requires new equipment attached with it to work properly. Which explains why the connection would keep dropping. Now I'm running at full load/near limit of extreme tier now (I downgraded today just to see if it would make a difference)
So modem works fine, been going strong for over an hour (A record this week!! lol) So for anyone else that has issues don't assume it's the modem off the bat like myself. I came within seconds of mailing it back to get a new one which would of been a major headache to deal with.

2) I'm afraid your connectivity issues may come back, as they be related to the bug in older versions of the modem firmware. As discussed above, only TWC can update the firmware, and they refuse to update customer owned modems...

Update: Installed the modem on March 4th and kept having internet connectivity issues. It'll work for about 5-10 minutes and then when I say for example download a large file it loses connection. Same with playing a game, maybe played like 5 mins of BF 3 and it would lose signal and go out.
Decided to chat with a TWC rep to see if maybe it was something on their end being that they may have coded it incorrectly on my account. The rep mentioned that my download/upload signal was too low and that what was causing the issue. He mentioned he enable speedboost or boosted the signal up and now I haven't had any problems yet. Hopefully, it was just on their end. Still not getting anywhere close to the 50mbps speed I'm paying for now. Been hovering around 30mpbs since install.
Got some time this weekend to re-run cables and check and make sure everything is running/hooked up properly. Someone mentioned something about channel bonding. Like my amber light is orange and not blue when it's connected to my router and then when it's hardwired to the modem it turns blue so maybe I need to change the channel on my router to match the modem? Not sure, all this is somewhat new to me. Anyways, I'll post another update if anything new is discovered.

EDIT: I just ran speedtest again twice and got 29Mbps and 26Mbps.

|PoohBah||$67 offer accepted. I'm glad this semi-old thread popped up again. I was just looking for one of these so I can tell TWC to go screw themselves (well, $4 a month worth of go screw yourself).|
