I don't use the impact driver often as a (much easier to use and lighter) standard driver gets most of the workout. When I need to use the impact driver I ofter find myself in tight spaces like a cabinet, where a pistol grip would not work well.
The pistol grip is a little stronger and easier to lean on when needed.

Not as powerful as the C3 impact wrench, but the right angle nextec did the job.
You are right, the main reason the the right angle is to get into tight spaces, otherwise the pistol grip makes more sense since you can apply pressure directly behind the fastener with your body.

|cableguy||Why do you say the right angle impact is more useful? I can see that it would be handy for tight spaces, but if you're not constrained for space it seems like the pistol grip version would do a better job, letting you get some direct pressure behind it and not tearing the tool out of your hand when the screw is all the way in.|

|jayjay1||The right angle impact driver is more useful than the pistol grip. The drill is OK, not great.|

|cableguy||My boss picked up this set a year or so ago when it was around $50, and he raves about it all the time. I got a nextec rotary tool and multitool on sale this past christmas, and have been watching the price of this set ever since.|

|hiperco||I love the Nextec stuff. I thought I had all the tools, but the impact driver is new to me.|

Craftsman Nextec 12v Drill & Impact driver $64.99 AC
The Craftsman 12.0 Volt Lithium-Ion Drill and Impact Combo Kit is on sale today only for $69.99 at sears.com:
On the product page, the price is listed as $79.99, but in the cart it will show as $69.99. This appears to be because they have 2 separate short term discounts applied to the item, one is good today only, and another is valid through the 16th. They discounts do stack, but only 1 is reflected in the price on the product page.
Use coupon code SEARS2013 for another $5 off, bringing the total before tax to $64.99, with free store pickup.
I know this combo has been on sale for around $50 several times last year, but since thanksgiving I haven't seen any deals on this set. At this point, I'm considering $65 to be a good deal.
