|melissajkelly||I have an AMEX "Clear" account that sends me a $25 AMEX for every $2500 spent. I have amassed about $1200 worth of them. Does anyone know if this works for those cards, or only for cards earned from a "rebate?"|

Called today to do 3 TD cards.
Said I wanted to "request a refund of the available funds on my cards" and asked for an ACH deposit.
Call took 18 minutes total, was on hold for most of the time after providing the agent my card numbers.

|shyam09||Did one card ... took forever. In the time it took to do it, I got through $500 in rebate card via Amazon Payments ... Still have a ton more to do. I might just split it half and half|

(Parago will issue a check for some of their Visas and there may be a fee; it all depends on the sponsor. Take a look at the rebates anonymous wiki.)

So you will get charged a service fee, but the funds do not expire meaning that the service fee will eat into the funds. I am not sure if California law prevents this though because AMEX does indeed classify this card as a prepaid reward card. They do issue prepaid giftcards, so they could be considered 2 different products.

|mig0||Got a question. I live in California and just realized I hadn't cashed a tigerdirect Amex card, and so I got a bunch of fees on the card so my $60 is now $38 (grrr). I thought this wasn't legal and California prohibited these sort of fees?|
