|JDub8||I think 21-22 inches is just about right for a close up monitor (anything over 24 and you have to move it back). The only complaint I have about my U2211H is the vertical resolution. 1080 just isnt enough. I really want a x1200 or x1440 monitor|

Here is the link, should work (if not, just search "dell monitor"):

$500 is pretty good for a name brand 2560 x 1440 monitor if that's what you are referring to.
For some people ( especially professionals) , $500 isn't too much to spend on a monitor.

Oh when O' when, will a Dell monitor deal actually be at Dell.com
I'm talking about the reasonably priced monitors... not the $500 ones where you need to have half of your brain missing to make the purchase.
I have over $80 in gift cards that I need to use. Any time dell... any time.

Note that this monitor doesn't use a S-IPS or H-IPS panel , it uses AH-IPS which is cheaper to make.

|Frenchie14||To everyone who has this monitor: mine has noticeable ghosting. Is it an anomaly or do all of these monitors have some?|

Another note, this screen is glossy, more of a personal preference thing but i dislike glossy screens for photo editing. The dell U2312HM has a similar panel but is matte.
For more serious photo work, the next level up would be the U2410 which has a 10-bit panel but thats significantly more expensive at ~400

|aiyaaabatt||Costco has this for 159.99. Just get best buy or frys to price match. I did this last week. Easy|

|yeenon||Is this good for photo editing? Yes this is a serious question, buying for someone else and don't know the specifics personally|

Thanks OP. Been looking for a second monitor after Best Buy upped the price to 220 again.
I must say the DVI connection is very tight. I bought a HDMI to DVI cable from Monoprice and the cable portion that connects to the monitor is bent at an uncomfortable angle. Mostly thanks to an unnecesary angle of the monitor enclosure and a cable management thing.
Don't even try using a HDMI to DVI adapter, it doesn't fit, it has to be a cable with a DVI end
