Exactly they think that because two numbers are expressed the same way, mean the same thing. When in fact as you point out they are entirely two different processes. 120hz 240 whatever on any TV is not , I repeat NOT related to monitor refresh rates. They are entirely two different processes.
Interpolation and refresh rate...

Interpolation = more input lag = bad for games
My Asus VG278H accepts 120 Hz sources natively so I can run my PC games at 120 FPS without any issues.

I sometimes forget about consoles.

A PC is honestly the only thing that's capable of doing either.
EDIT: BTW, I talked my mother into getting this for $447.28 shipped from Wal-Mart back in December. It's a good set for the money for sure. Speakers, as always, are lacking, though. In for one and REPPED.

|Jerrycobra||i ordered one to pick up at the store but then i got there they only had one that was opened/returned, online said they still had new ones. so i rejected it and left. Now since there is a one househood policy, i cannot order it again and have it shipped, so i think i will try a best buy price match instead|

|yash1780||I was looking for a 3D TV in a size which I can take to India too after some time of USE in USA. I hope 42inch will allowed in most of the airlines. Also, I dont know about 60Hz and 120HZ, but I hope this LG 3D TV give perfect experiance of 3D at most of the time. I know I am gonna asking too much, but can this TV transfer 3D movie to 2D if needed? And will Roku work on this TV. I am new in USA and specially TV technology here. thats why I am asking too much. Thanks in advance.|

I just picked one up from my local Fry's and am quite pleased with it after spending an hour or so calibrating the picture to my liking. I'm especially pleased I only paid $436! (after tax)
