Just finished up the series. Great book.
I've heard conflicting reviews on the Shift Omnibus - many saying it tries too hard, or taints the original. Any thoughts there?

Jenette Goldstein - Pvt. Vasquez Aliens
Linda Hamilton - Sarah Conner - Terminator 2
Not the shape she was in the first movie, remember her doing chin-ups in prison in the 2nd?
FYI - I find a woman in that kind of shape incredibly hot. When I was forced to relocate for a year when my job was contracted out and it was 2009 (i.e. what housing market), my wife stayed at home that is mostly in the country and had to push mow our upper two acres (she was 32).

|pmarin||Hi, my name is Peter and I am a SlickDeal-o-holic. I was prepared to buy this at $4 but was sorry when I saw someone mentioned it was $2 last year, because you never want to miss the "best deal." Luckily, when I just went to buy it today, Amazon's buying page said "you already bought this" -- and I checked the order and I got it for $1.99 last October. Now, I guess I should stop shopping and start reading!|

I didn't mention some of plot elements that bothered me, well, because simply I REALLY, REALLY try to suspend disbelief. I largely agree with your analysis of actresses. I have yet to catch Jennifer Lawrence in any of her acclaimed roles - though what I have caught of her causes me to agree she probably should be on the short list. If she can pull off acting like a hard-working problem-solving mechanically oriented woman whose been bounced around a bit, I suspect some well done make-up should work.
I've caught both Jojovich and Beckinsale, but only in action flicks. They should both be able to do the action portion of the part very well - I just haven't seen their acting. Sigourney simply is too old without rewriting the part.

To further pique your interest, 20th Century Fox has already locked up the movie rights (at Ridley Scott's urging.) I think the "Juliet" character is too old to be played by Jennifer Lawrence and too young to be played by Sigourney Weaver. Any comments on Mila Jojovich or Kate Beckinsale?

I love this series. It's addicting and worth much more than the price!
