Finally got to use my Lenovo Twist on a trip. The battery life was better than I expected. In light use such as light web browsing, editing a word document, and Kindle book reading on the plane it lasted about ~4.5 hours and still had 25% battery to spare.
While I would love to get 10+ hours, upgradable ram, etc. I am definitely satisfied with this purchase.
I did replace the 24gb SSD Cache drive with a 128GB SSD and run the entire OS off of that. I also have the 500GB drive installed for data storage. I also did a clean install of the OS and not the Lenovo recovery.

Update in case anyone is following.
Been happy with the Twist so far. Used it today in a meeting. The meeting was ~4.5 hours long and was on battery the entire time. I ran it on Balanced Mode with BT off WiFi on. Use was pretty constant, but I would consider it light/note-taking use. I left the meeting with a solid 30% remaining and 1.5 hours estimate left on the battery. It's been sleeping for about 10 hours. Just turned it on and used it to flip through some photos on High Performance. Says I have 26% and just over an hour left. In heavier use I'm seeing closer to 3-4 hours.

Overall I'm sure they are all pretty close and quality drives. So far the Plextor is running fine - I did a clean install with a Window 8 disc and had no problems with the key working. I'm still not sure if the mSATA port is rated at SATA II or full SATA III, but in use it's definitely speedy.
Let me know what you go with.

Did you get the Mushkin 120GB mSATA SSD? I contemplated getting it from Amazon for $110, but then it went OOS and price went to $115. I'll stick to my 64GB Samsung 830 for now, haven't gotten around to installing it in my Twist yet.
The first Twist had a bad touchpad, the right most edge of the pad was not registering touch - right edge swipe, chiral scrolling, even right clicking will not register, it even affected three finger back/forward gesture. This one works fine now.

|MisterRunon||I alreadt returned mine. On top of the bad battery life, its heavier and about the wame suze as 13.3" since it has a touchscreen.|

Actually it just popped up with 6 hours 12 min remaining at 85%. I don't think it's getting a good estimate here from windows. Will have to see what it's like with a stop watch or something - haha.

Curious if your are running an SSD? Did you do a clean install of the OS?

|javahooked||Just want to share my experience purchasing the twist. I got one during the deal couple of weeks back on Lenovo outlet. Although the ordering experience is somewhat Pain in the Butt, the order was processed and shipped in 3 days. The machine i had bought was the i7 with 8GB RAM for 601.00 shipped-Refurb unit (including tax). I inspected the serial number and it matched with the one I had ordered so that was good. The system looked brand new with zero blemishes. Have been using it for the last couple of weeks and its pretty good so far.|

[QUOTE=MisterRunon;58459692]got my twist on saturday.. opened up laptop, set everything up.. and it showed that i had 2 hours and 40 minutes on a full charge.
At least yours worked. Mine had a flickering display, and they can't swap it out for another one since they are OOS.

got my twist on saturday.. opened up laptop, set everything up.. and it showed that i had 2 hours and 40 minutes on a full charge.
turned brightness down to 50% and bluetooth off, and it shows about 3 hours 10 minutes.. that's still less than half of the advertised time. for an "ultrabook" i expected at least 5 hours if the claim was 7.
im returning the laptop... this is 2 horribly bad lenovo laptops i've had in a row now - not sure if i want to waste my time with their products anymore.
