|69ragtop||I received a $17 Dell Promo card tonight and this is the only purchase I have made from Dell lately so I wanted to see if anyone else received the same. I have not called, emailed, chatted, etc with Dell about the TV so I did not instigate the gift.|

|OGIGA||Dell is pulling some shenanigan on me. I talked to Pilot about delivering to my office and they said they'd call Dell for authorization. Dell emailed me and asked about my address so I replied. Next morning, I found the shipment cancelled. Called Pilot to see what's up and spent an hour with Dell on the phone, being transferred 8-10 times getting almost no where until I got the stupid departments to make a conference call to each other. The TV was getting sent back and they were going to send me another one with a new order. oTL I better still get my $35 credit with this...|

|OMGthatsCraZY||Set this guy up and checked it out - looks really good! I am using the "gaming" picture settings and the blacks are nice and deep, you can tell detail well. There doesnt seem to be a lot of light bleeding which is good. Overall I'm very satisfied!|

Looks like I got in on the deal a day before it died. Dell estimated delivery on 4/9, Pilot estimates 4/10. They just got the goods from Dell yesterday morning. We'll see how this goes.
Update: Considering that there is also this deal now, I called Dell to see what it would take to cancel or refund my order. They said that the price difference is $10, which it is if you don't consider taxes, but I end up paying $40+ more at Dell because BuyDig doesn't collect sales tax from me. They offered $25 off to keep it. I asked if I had to decide immediately and the CSR said $35 off if I decided right now. I took the $35 offer. There wouldn't be a refund fee due to the current promotion right now and I guess they'd lose money shipping it twice. So I'm only paying $5-10 more than the BuyDig deal and saved the trouble of returning Dell and buying from BuyDig.

RE: Pilot Freight
Add about 1 week to the delivery date estimate on Dell.com. Mine was for tomorrow and Dell only gave the TV to Pilot Freight today.
Also worth mentioning, Dell.com does say to pick an address "where someone is available to sign." It's not written in bold red letters, but it is top center on the shipping form page. What I didn't hear until the voicemail from Pilot Freight is "no stairs." So, clearly there are a couple problems with this shipping arrangement.

I've ordered many things over the years that were as valuable or more valuable than this 39" TV where the shipper never required a signature and the item was left on a front porch or by the garage with no option for me to request otherwise.
Keep in mind here that my biggest gripe is about not being informed about this when I ordered. Without disclosing this, Dell made the assumption that I would be able to be at home for 4 hours during a work day in order to receive the item. Pilot Freight says no option to release them or waive the signature.
If a compromise is not found this TV will ultimately be returned to Dell for being unable to deliver because I can't take a day off work to sit and wait for a delivery truck. All Dell had to do was disclose this delivery fact when I ordered and I would have not bought the TV. Simple really. But it represents horrible customer care by Dell... Besides, a quick google search of "Dell Pilot Freight" has tons of horror stories even when folks were home to receive the shipment. Shaping up to be savings that are nowhere near worth the hassle. At least for a guy like me with a full time job outside the home...

Have been needing an upgrade from my 32" Toshiba for in this room. This will do nicely, esp since I paid the same amount for this as I did the Toshiba!

|Foreveryours||What happens if they leave it on your porch only to have someone take it. Would you be alright in accepting all the responsibilities of the consequences?|
