The standard for desktops has always been 7200RPM I thought. Laptops use the 5400RPM standard to decrease heat and preserve battery life.

Did anyone else jump on this deal? I searched the seller's (Acer factory) other listings, and I bought an Acer Aspire A6 quad core for $250. So, for $50 more I got a lot more processing power, significantly better graphics (A6's are known for that), and an HDMI output.
One thing I like about all the computers that Acer is listing is that they all have 7200 RPM hard drives (as opposed to the 5400 RPM standard). This will significantly help speed up the machine's overall performance.

Thoughts anyone? Worth the extra $50?

I have an e350 and it works pretty decent. The biggest problem is it performs poorly on Netflix but for all other htpc functions its fine.

|menace33||It'll get what you need done but don't expect a whole slew of windows open and then trying to do some light gaming at the same time. It's a good grandparent's or young children's computer.|

Gateway AMD E-1200 Refurbished Desktop: AMD E-1200 Dual core CPU, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 7310, Windows 8 $200 + free shipping (many others available)
seems like a very good deal on a basic desktop
they also have many other desktops available . These won't knock your socks off, but great for kids or elderly
