Found one 8/31 in Waltham, MA store.
I just picked one of these up in the Waltham, MA store. it was the only one. Though factory sealed, it MUST be a customer return after briefly perusing this thread.
I posted about it last night.

I think the biggest differences btw the 2 receivers are the 9.2 vs 7.2, additional 10w/channel increase on the 1522-k, dual chasis, zone2/3 support, 4k pass through, and THX Select2 certified. It's also larger and weighs 1/3rd more than the 1122-k.
The THX cert is not all that useful if you're running an apartment setup, but for those with larger rooms that prefer reference level sound, this would be a selling point. In fact, every feature of the 1522-k screams it's been designed for large/multi-zoned areas.
Also, there are no more at the Costco in Gaithersburg, MD. I bought the last one, floor model, for $530.

Not sure if this is a lot different from the 1122-k 7.2. I got that one from Amazon for $199 Used - Like new, which seemed unused and as far as the PQ - no difference from the 1522. The only difference is better audio and 9.2 on the 1522-k.

I have an old tuner box that does not have HDMI, but does have DVI and optical out for audio. I know I can use an adapter for DVI to HDMI with no problem, but I still have to connect the optical for the audio portion since the DVI port on the box does not deliver audio. Can this Pioneer receiver allow an HDMI source to be used along with an optical port?
I'm pretty sure all you have to do is assign the HDMI and optical to the same input name...
