|sdmaster07||The keypad enables you to manually turn the deadbolt to the lock or unlock position. Otherwise it is free wheeling. To lock the deadbolt, you do not have to enter the code, you just press the the top button on the keypad and manually turn deadbolt to the lock position. Very nice locks, and the feel is solid quality.|

What is the keypad used for, specifically? The keypad mechanism doesn't move the deadbolt - it only allows the deadbolt to be manually operated, right? So, when the door is opened, and I close the door, then turn the deadbolt into the extend position manually, do I have to push a keypad button to get the electronic mechanism to lock the deadbolt in the extend position? Or does the keypad automatically lock the deadbolt when you manually extend the deadbolt?

|Straycat76||Nice price. I have the exact model in my wish list, but I need the satin nickel color (which is still $114)...|

I bought the BE365VCAM619 (Camelot trim in nickel, otherwise identical) on Jan 25th for both the front door and back door. So we're 2.5 months in.
I have the keys somewhere, but honestly we've never used them.
Very happy with the purchase. Still on original battery. Operation is smooth and consistent. Includes a door frame hardening plate and extra long screws to resist door kick downs, which I've yet to install.
