|MahGyver||But 7eleven doesn't take the coupon. Does HomeDepot? It's no deal if they can't take it. I don't see Walmart as location in Amerigas site...|

Blue Rhino exchange is $17.99 every day at my local grocery store where I do most of my shopping. My time and gas money is worth more than ~$3.
Cool deal though. Thanks for the tip.

Can anyone add a pdf of the coupon? I cannot install the printer app on my work pc.
Thanks in advance.

Exchange (15 lbs) = $17 -$3 = $14 + new or better tank
Price per gallon for fill $3.50 * 3.5 gal (15lbs) = $12.25 + same rusty old tank.
refil is cheaper but different tank is the bonus.

Gas stations and convenient stores near us are $19 to $22 per exchange. Menard's is $17 for exchange. If a refilling station is 7 miles away, and you drive a pickup truck or SUV getting 14 mpg, it's YMMV.
Hey, $3 is $3, and it seems you only need propane when you're having a big GTG, and the convenient stores are just that - convenient, when you also have to pick up the potato salad, beer, and cake.

|08CivicSi||Why would anyone do an exchange? Much cheaper and you get more propane if you just go somewhere to get your tank filled...|

|auxiliary||Few comments on some of the post. Yes it is better to get it filled by someone since you can save one money. I have a BJ's Warehouse membership and get it filled on average of $11. You can go out and buy a empty tank at the store or get this coupon the rebate and stack it. If you do the propane exchange or purchase without the tank, you own that tank. I bought a home and they left an old tank that was like 13 years old so I stacked this to get a spare. America's can give you a new tank, or an old tank and It could be rusty. Blue Rhino with put new coat of paint on it for you.|

Also, my Ace charges a flat rate (not per gallon), the Uhaul places might be different but for me Ace is convenient and I like to support them. It's also kind of irrelevant as I now have two newish cylinders so I can run one until it's totally empty and then I just take it to Ace when I have a chance or am already going there for another reason.
Cylinders were just onsale at costco for $29.99 (I think), I got mine onsale at Ace for less than that early last year.
Another tip if you are doing exchanges. Try to go to a place where they give you the key or have a cage than you can look at a few different ones. Not only should you make sure you are getting a heavy one, but if you want to refill it make sure it has a current date code on it. There should be a MM-YY near the handle, and Ace will only refill it if it's within 7 (or so) years of that date.
