Have no credibility since i've never owned a pair of boots -- but i like them and have received... well.. 1 compliment after a month.
They dont keep their shine well though (said above as well)

Let me elaborate on my previous review. These shoes are functional and for $15 it's not really a rip-off. But one thing you do not skimp on are shoes and there is no way I would wear these plastic shoes (both for comfort and aesthetic reasons) to any formal occasion.
It looks cheap, because it is cheap. I don't know if there are high-end brands that look like plastic instead of regular leather, but I recently bought a pair of heavily discounted Banana Republic shoes for $45 and I am more than happy with the purchase because it's REAL leather and it looks like REAL leather and it's fairly polished and it doesn't look like fvcking PLASTIC!
TLDR: Do people actually wear these plastic shoes? It's fake polished, it's not a real polish

|FAMIR||6pm is a weird place. they sent me a shipping notice with a wrong tracking number that UPS has not received package at all yet I got the delivery the same day I called to ask what was going on. And the tracking number on the package yield nothing neither. But the shoes are nice. I got a pair of black reid and brown Rowley, both looked nice, at least much nicer than the price you can get. The sole is thin, so I don't know if they will last long and I don't think it'll be very comfortable, but I don't have high expectation for a pair at $15. My Clerk is comfortable, but I remember I paid at least twice the price.|

anyway....i recieved my Rowley's today (the harness style leather boots) and cannot believe i paid a TOTAL of $40 shipped for two pair of these. as other shoppers have noted and speaking for the Rowley's only.....this is quality footwear. i love shoes, so i can't help but be very happy with these. true value? If someone told me they cost $150 a pair in a department store I would not blink. i would expect to pay no less then $120 a pair on sale. i feel like i just got $330 worth of boots for $40! (after tax pricing).
as mentioned the boots came packed in big, black boxes with silver logo trim. the inside was lined with thick, silver, brand paper and the boots were stuffed with shoe shaping paper to help keep form. it all smelled very leathery . the boots are made from quality uppers, and have soft thin rubber soles / pads attached to a hard surface sole underneath. the same goes for the heel. the zipper works well, the design and styling of the boot attractive, they have a genuine leather lining, and its all stitched and glued very well.
these are "just above the ankle" boots. i like 'em like that. complaints? well like a couple others the toe area is longish and gives a "clowny" feeling, if not a look. i don't buy boots of this sort usually but because of the narrow, square toe maybe they are supposed to have a bit of extra length as the shape of the shoe / sole / heels tend to push the foot a bit forward when walking or standing. the boots fit very well, not snug like a glove, and are comfy. it just seems a tad too much length at the toe. that said they do fit near perfect and look just as well. so, no complaints
i bought these to ride motorcycles with and to look good doing it. i mean i have a few pair of boots, but these are sort of nicer. they aren't riding boots or the rugged sort, but that is not the point all the time. sometimes i just want to get off the bike and not be in a sneaker, plain black riding shoe, or rugged riding boot. these have the added harness which makes them appear as a riding boot to a casual onlooker, but are obviously more stylish in look and design and execution. i for one could not be happier with this purchase

Just received the boots and shoes. They're gorgeous! VERY impressed! Excellent leathers, flawless detailing, nicely boxed. I'm literally stunned how nice they are. Could easily see these retailing for $80 - $120 (or more). What an insane deal these were!
A shame Zappos was so inept at building this Black Rooster footwear brand and had to close it down, (their ad copy was hilariously awful), based on the product they really had something.
