Everything is measured like that.
Buy a new PC, Laptop or Mac and none of their specs reflect after installed software.
What's really misleading is they way hard drives are measured compared to actual formatting.
Full Windows 8 lets you run pretty much anything. RT is limited to ARM based.
Not comparing, only showing:
It's like iOS on the iPad (RT) and OS X on a Mac (Full 8)

do you know if the SD card inserts completely flush on the tablet? I have seen some laptops where the SD cards insert only half way. thanks

Is there any real advantage of RT over regular windows 8? (please...do not compare android and IOS)
It seems that there are a lot of atom based windows 8 tablets that can be had in the $400-$500 range that are pretty decent, so i am wondering if there is any advantage to the RT tablet?

|xrayMover||The description on their website works very hard to make certain that "Windows 8" and "RT" never appear next to each other. Not very honest.|

I suppose you could just use an Outlook web interface if you're company provides one. That's what I do when I'm not in the office anyway.
Personally I'd stay away from Windows RT, but I'm also not a fan of do-nothing-operating-systems (like iOS and Android). I'd much rather a full OS experience, then you don't need special stripped down and half-ass'd "apps" for every little task.
Just my 0.02$.
