|BrokenVisage||Loved Pitch Black, but thought Chronicles of Riddick was a GREAT movie, definitely not worth the negative reviews that people give it just because they expected something more like PB. The story and characters were actually interesting, I guess you could say it's a pretty fast paced film with lots of angles but after a couple watches I began to appreciate it. However, the Directors Cut is not very good with the added scenes, the edited/normal version definitely removed some stuff that deserved to be removed. Can't wait for the 3rd movie, forget when the release date is but I know it's not long from now.|

1. Does the Air Elemental (Aereon) comment on Riddick now leading the Necromancers? If yes, you have the theatrical version. If she simply says 'what would be the odds of that?', you have the Director's cut.
2. When Riddick escapes from Crematoria, do you see the Merc (Toombs) in a cage between two Hell Hounds? If yes, you have the Director's cut.

|aegrotatio||The one showing on cable TV recently is the director's cut. It ends slightly differently from the theatrical version (which was a bit more positive than the director's cut is). It also features the Furian "smart bomb" which I didn't really appreciate as realistic. As if the movie was realistic, heheh.|

How bad is it? Is it George Lucas bad?
I know a lot of people who saw Chronicles first, and therefore prefer it to Pitch Black...but I saw Pitch Black first and will never forget his eyes glowing in the dark. And that movie had such an awesome climax!
Both movies are so underrated, it's such a shame!
Reps to everyone for being awesome!

I got this Trilogy on DVD years ago. I like the movies so much that I bought Pitch Black on HD-DVD (oops). When HD_DVD died, I bought the Chronicles of Riddick on Blue-ray.
I was disappointed that The Chronicles of Riddick did not do well in theaters, but with the popularity it achieved on DVD I am hoping the sequel will do better at the box office.
I think there is enough depth in the concept to make a couple of good sequels.
