|dealbuster9999||Nikon and Cannon have spent many years and resources creating lens since the end of wwII . Cannon and Nikon lens have consistently retained their value year after year. Why buy anything else.|

|bobby350z||I had sigma 30mm f1.4. It was one of my best lenses. As good as my 35L. I used it on my 1dmk2.|

Missed it :/. I agree the 1.8 35mm Nikon is great for it's price. But it does not compare to my old Olympus with the 1.4 Sigma lens. Miss that lens. And I think Sigma lenses are still made in Japan yeah?

I've owned both of these for over 2 years each.
1.always takes overexposed shots by 1-2 stops.
2. Great Bokeh
3. 30mm is perfect for just about everything
1. Super sharp and fast focus
2. Bokeh not impressive
3. 35mm is a bit too close-up for everyday shooting (in my personal taste)
I would still get Nikon over Sigma. I rather have faster focus with right exposure.
