|wellhole||I received this today. Unfortunately, I'm returning it tomorrow. The spacebar feels mushy and doesn't register the key press even when depressed all the way on the sides.|

Please point me in the nearest direction of the 'Apple Macintosh Book Pro' with similar specs & features for $525 so that I may join the cult.

|Deal Hound||While this might be good laptop computer, one who demands optimal user experience should consider Apple Macintosh Book Pro with aluminum body. You will also get Apple logo on computer. This alone is worth substantial amount.|

usual mistake people make...intel chip laptops dont usually drop in prices with introduction of a new chip.
Ivy bridge introduction hardly discounted any sandy bridge laptops, nor did sandy bridge discount any nehalem laptops. In fact, nehalem laptops stayed more expensive than the sandy bridges until they went obsolete.
They usually introduce the laptops with new chips in with similar prices with the previous generation ones, then shortly after that, they start more aggressive pricing on the new chips, not the old ones.

Speaking of the XPS, Dell sent me the original order acknowledgement and hasn't contacted me since, guess I'm out. Didn't really need another lappy anyways, impulse buy.

This part of the eBay listing made me laugh, wonder who wrote it:
Country of Manufacture: Taiwan, Province of China
In other news.. good deal if you only want new. They had the UX31A for less than this, but refurbished and with Windows 7 instead and a 128GB SSD.
Personally, if you can wait 2-4 months to buy a laptop, you should absolutely wait. Rumor has it that Haswell based laptops will have TWICE the graphics power and nearly twice the battery life as these Ivy Bridge versions. Remember, Intel operates on Tick Tock, and Haswell is a Tock, meaning a major architectural change. So we could be seeing $600 thin laptops which are capable at processing but can last 8-9 hours easily.
