Swype overall has better swiping mechanisms than Swift Key's Flow mechanism.

|slomer||The current Swype is by far the best keyboard in the new versions with prediction.|

IMO, Swype is leaps and bounds ahead of Swiftkey's Flow. Much smoother, much better looking, easier to add punctuation (because it's not a 1 millimeter slide in the bottom corner of your phone. Try sliding a ? and tell me that's easy in the heat a long message).
Just because Swiftkey CAN have a "swype" option, doesn't mean it's good....(and do you guys really use the type prediction? It seems like a hassle to type a word and then look to see if it knows the next word...and if not, then to type another word...etc....Maybe you just repeat yourself a lot?)
It's also WAY better than any sort of stock imitation "swype" keyboard.
Just give it a try. It's smooth, and sexy, and feels right. Not awkward.

|poplistic21||Question: When Swype app have updates, do I get free updates or do I have to pay for updates after I purchased the app? Thanks.|

|brithug00||this might sound silly, but is there any type of swype app for ipad? my husband is the worlds slowest typer, and i think this would help when hes taking notes on ipad. I thought about getting him a small physical keyboard, but swype might be better.|

I've used Swype and Swiftkey extensively over the last few years, and they're both extremely good.
Personally, I found I never used Swiftkey's predictions (I just continue typing without looking at them). I also use my phone almost exclusively in portrait mode and type with one hand, so I prefer Swype.
But if you type with two hands most of the time or appreciate the predictions, you want Swiftkey. Both keyboards are so good that once you get past the initial pain of learning the slightly different layouts and gestures, it's hard to choose.

You can set up an emulator when you install the Android SDK .
