|dtpnu||Spend the money on some Amazing Roll-off. Works on everything, literally and leaves behind a nice wax-like finish. Cleans wheels (safe on chrome, aluminum, etc), tires, splattered bugs, etc etc. I use it and found I have to clay/wax the car much less often.|

Dish soap stripping paint is actually a misconception. Only some may strip wax if they have chemicals in addition to the soap.
The problem with them is however, is they will dry out your plastic trim and make it turn gray.
For those who think soap is created equal, buy some Duragloss from Napa. A capful will give you more bubbles than you can imagine. And adds a bit of gloss to the surface.

That's not the same as DISHWASHER SOAP/LIQUID - its highly acidic and will definitely strip the clear.
