I'm sad... this monitor is really good, it works well, no issues with it, great color, functional, lots of adjustments...
why am i said? because now i hate my other monitor, tempted not to go dual screen.

hey chunkylover lol, actually newegg WILL let you return them. I got a replacement for the first monitor because of the bleeding you describe, and then my replacement had bleeding too so I got a refund. Both times I did not pay return shipping, nothing out of my pocket but the hassle/time.
I just described the circumstances honestly to the Newegg rep, because this monitor really bleeds like hell if you don't get a "good" one (i have looked at 3 separate ones total), I also took pictures w/ my camera in a dark room with a black background as evidence of the terrible bleeding. Was an easy return process, hope this helps.

You guys with the glowing reviews were really wrong about these monitors. I got mine and while the colors are nice, there is way too much bleed. I guess I didn't understand what bleed meant as all the negative reviews only talk about perimeter bleed. The bleed problem is actually over the entire screen. These screens never show good black. I have a black win7 desktop and these things are glowing compared to my older VH242H lcd's. I should note that I have the brightness turned down pretty far on my old monitors, but with the PA248Q's you're really limited on the low end of the brightness spectrum - 0 brightness is still pretty bright.
One of the two PA248Q's had noticeable additional bleed on all four corners, but I actually wouldn't care about this if it weren't for the ENTIRE screen being so damn bleedy. The perimeter bleed can be affected by squeezing the monitor casing.
I doubt I can return these to newegg so I guess I'll try to sell them.

Looks like this deal is dead.
I purchased 2 of these from Amazon. I ended up asking for 2 replacements due to light bleed and Amazon shipped them overnight to me after a few minutes on their chat (amazing!). The next two also had light bleed but 1 of the 4 was very minimal and I was thinking I could deal with the second one having a smaller amount. I got on their chat and they offered me a 20% refund on the two monitors (thus making each monitor $200 - $400 total). Again, Amazon's customer service is incredible. I decided to keep the monitors for that price and I'm happy with my decision.

Can anyone who's just got package from Newegg let me know if yours have minimal backlight leak? I plan to use it with dark background in a dimly-lit room. The price is great but seeing a lot of complains + pictures/videos example of the problem makes me very reluctant. Recent reviews on newegg and their return policy aren't helping much either.

Also with limited knowledge, I am guessing that most of these monitors respond better than a majority of tvs, but that is only my very poor speculation. The truth may be the opposite since xboxs were designed for use with TVs. Maybe someone can expand on my guesses with some truth.
