I know alot of these issues are tantamount to this model only, but on top of Google's failure to provide service for the product and also finding Android's OS to still not be quite as polished as iOS, i'm afraid i'll be waiting for the next generation iPad mini.

Here’s my two cents… I found out issues abound with the nexus. If you absolutely don’t need one right now I would advise to wait for the next gens N7s or Samsungs or go with the newly released hp slate 7. Nexus 7 caught and is riding a giant wave of positive reviews all across the net and the media, thus the reason they sell so many of them. I felt for it too after reading praised reviews website after website, making comparisons and waiting for price drops for months on end. On paper yes it is the best, in practicality not so much. I bought me a refurbished one that only lasted about 5 or 6 hours before it bricked, DEAD, no amount of tinkering brought it back, so I brought it back today to the retailer MicroCenter. So you would say oh well you bought a bad refurbished what you expect, I say do a little bit more research and read on all the issues people are having with these things before you make your choice, heck perhaps you have one for a while and not a single issue, well that’s great for you.
These things are incredibly faulty, they have an atrocious return rate, there’s a reason they sell them refurbished by the truck loads, it is not because someone bought and didn’t like the aesthetics or performance, it is not because of the numbers game they selling so many. I read on another forum a guy who supposedly works for a retailer that they expecting a 50% return rate on them. Google will continue to milk this baby with minimal price drops for a while longer.
This is a rushed product cramped up with performance hardware to masked its shortcomings. I could live without the SD, or hdmi or even without camera(which by the way it does not come with a camera app to take pics with, is like they don’t even want you to use the crappy front camera it comes with.) Another one, no LED light to let you know whether is charging, that is if the damn thing is in a mood to let itself get charged up, a lot of issued with that around.
Another small(big for my taste) design quirk I couldn’t stand after just a few hours of playing with the thing, the power and volume buttons are stacked right next to each other to the right of the device, I kept hitting the power button instead of controlling the audio and vice versa, trust me incredibly annoying. I’m getting a slate 7, they just oos after only a few days, the performance difference against the n7 seem to me rather negligible and unnoticeable.

if i had $650 to spend i would undoubtedly go for the HTC one, but if i did that i wouldn't be able to add my n7 to my gadget collection. for the price, the N4 is solid for me. i'm not sure if you think the radio is crap because it doesn't have LTE or because its just a crap radio.

I don't think there's alot of anyone waiting for anything Nexus anymore. They shot themselves in the foot with the N4 and in the Head with the N10.
The game has changed...HTC One unseats IPhone 5 and the S4 in most reviews...At least that's what the reviewers are saying....
HTC threw its "Hail Mary" and may stay in existence for a year more with the HTC 1.
Hot enough for me to drop 654 bucks for one over a plastic S4( software revamped S3) or an obsolete IPhone 5
PS...The Nexus 4 IS NOT SOLID.....it has a horrible radio and yet is a fantastic 4.7" personal computer. I know..I have a N4/N7/N10.

Perhaps a N5(N4 with LTE and leas glass) ; but the 7 is perfect so they won't fark it up like they did with the N4
Then again...wait 5 years as the CEO of Blackberry said Tablets will be dead in that time.
Oddly though...I think Blackberry will be dead in that time.
