Yeah, sorry. I remember you mentioned the dashboard deal. But that this link deal of yours was immediately after expiring and letting the account go Silver Level for a few minutes, so that the link would work correctly.
Got it crossed up in the memory a bit. Your link deal is much better than the dashboard deal. (Since you have to wait for dashboard and not the link)
You are correct. $35 is the standard, but $40 isn't bad for the impatient. I don't use Rakuten points, although maybe I should learn.
Bottom line: Your thread should be permanently tabbed by SlickDeals until it runs out. $12/year for Xbox Gold for only a few minutes hassle every 2 months is much better than anything else.

What's with all the thumbs up on this? $35 is the standard sale price on these, and with Rakuten coupons you could get them down to $30. And with an actual link to the $2/2 month deal so you don't have to sit around waiting for an ad to pop up on the dashboard, there's not much of a reason to pay $40 a year.
I mean come on, you guys are slickdealers - you can go through the trouble of getting your gold subs two months at a time.

Quick, off top of my head, run down. Anywhere between immediately or up to a week after expiration your Xbox homepage should offer a deal to re-up Live at the idiotically cheap price.
Think the dude said a full year, if it works out, ends up being like $12.
It was a pretty recent topic so should be easy to find.
Here, found it: http://slickdeals.net/f/6009880-Xbox-Live-Gold-2-months-for-2-weblink
Looks like you have to make sure auto-renew is turned off for the weblink to work.
