@APhamX: I cancelled my order the last time this was on sale because I took out my 18-135 and sat it to 50mm. It was too long most of the time for general purpose shooting and Buydig gave me a full refund even though they already shipped the order.

The pictures shot with it are really good even 100% crops are awesome - probably due to the mk3 body. I wouldn't hesitate to use this lens (don't have it anymore) in daylight.

But I am happy to say that I finally found my soul mate telezoom... the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS mkii... but at 10x the price... I wouldn't encourage anyone to upgrade to that who isn't certain that they will use that focal length.

Well, what that person shouldn't do is sell that lens to get a 70-300mm lens, Canon or Tamron variety. That "upgrade" would accomplish nothing as the range doesn't fit well with most standard zoom APS-C lenses and image quality isn't any better than the 55-250mm. Only thing is the build quality will improve, but at the cost of size and weight.

Having said that... that is one of the rare instances that this is true... very rare.

Either way... my buy it now and new price point for the sigma is $800.

Both suffer wide open, the f/1.4 has a better bokeh, but you don't notice unless it is in a side by side comparison.
